They speak when it's safe to speak. God will judge them for their silence when Catholics were struggle to get a Holy Mass because TLM parishes or Masses were unjustly shut down. At that time, they will not be able to hide behind the first Saturday devotion precisely because Catholics need to attend Mass to fulfill this devotion and tradition loving Catholics cannot fulfill this if they don't have a TLM to go to.

So no way Burke and Sarah are doing anything for us, even if they appear to do so.

adrienneep's avatar

This is a personal devotion and prayer. That act does not require a TLM. I posted above a compilation of the Fatima prayers one can use. Your attendance at any Mass is a separate part of fulfilling it. You are speaking ill of two very holy men by taking out your frustrations regarding TLM upon them. Why not just do the devotion and prayer instead?

Lydia Davidson's avatar

My "frustration " stems from God's rights being stolen and secondly my Catholic heritage being destroyed. In my country, the TLM is only available in one small corner of the country. While the rest of the world is welcomed as part of ecumenism and inculturation.

Lydia Davidson's avatar

The TLM sir is The Mass. If that's not worth bothering about, then this devotion as you say is only a personal devotion.

If we reject the rights of God, then there's really no point in just doing a devotion without understanding what devotion is.

adrienneep's avatar

I never said TLM was not the Mass. I only said that you can do the prayers inside your local Church, with or without others. To fulfill the devotion by going to Mass can be done at any Mass. Don't let your devotion/prayers be lost because of all the rest. Jesus, not the Vatican, asked for this devotion to his Mother. And I am a lady too.

Here is a compilation of what we at one Our Lady of Fatima parish did for our First Saturday Devotions. Along with Benediction and a Holy Hour, it makes for a powerful First Saturday.

(sorry that the formatting is lost).

*****First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary*****

From the angel of Portugal 1916:

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love Thee; And I beg pardon for those who do not

believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love Thee.

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love Thee; And I beg pardon for those who do not

believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love Thee.

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love Thee; And I beg pardon for those who do not

believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love Thee.

From the angel of Portugal 1916:

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee

the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles

throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference, by which

He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in union with the

Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

From Our Lady of the Rosary to the three children July 13, 1917:

“Sacrifice yourself for sinners, and say many times, especially when you make the sacrifice:

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the

Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.

Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, and tender Mother of

men, in accordance with thy ardent wish made known at Fatima, I consecrate to thy

Immaculate Heart myself, my brethren, my country and the whole human race. Reign over

us, Most Holy Mother of God, and teach us how to make the Heart of Thy Son, Our Lord

Jesus Christ reign and triumph in us even as It has reigned and triumphed in thee.

Reign over us, dearest Mother, that we may be thine in prosperity and in adversity;

in joy and in sorrow; in health and in sickness; in life and in death.

O most compassionate Heart of Mary, Queen of Virgins, watch over our minds and

our hearts and preserve them from the deluge of impurity which thou didst lament so

sorrowfully at Fatima. We want to be pure like thee. We want to atone for the many sins

committed against Jesus and thee. We want to call down upon our country and the whole

world the peace of God in justice and charity.

Therefore, we now promise to imitate thy virtues by the practice of a Christian life

without regard to human respect. We resolve to receive Holy Communion on the First

Saturday of every month and to offer thee five decades of the rosary each day together with

our sacrifices in a spirit of reparation and penance. Amen.

Act of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Holy Virgin and our beloved Mother, we listen with grief to the complaints of

the Immaculate Heart, surrounded with the thorns which ungrateful men place therein at

every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Moved by the ardent desire of loving

thee as our Mother and of promoting a true devotion to thy Immaculate Heart, we

prostrate ourselves at thy feet to prove the sorrow we feel for the grief that men cause thee

and to atone by means of our prayers and sacrifices for the offenses with which men return

thy tender love.

Obtain for them and for us the pardon of so many sins. A word from thee will obtain

grace and forgiveness for all. Hasten, O Lady, the conversion of sinners that they may love

Jesus and cease to offend God, already so much offended, and thus avoid eternal

punishment. Turn thine eyes of mercy towards us so that henceforth we may love God

with all our heart while on earth and enjoy Him forever in Heaven. Amen.

Litany of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for our dear country.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Sanctify our clergy.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Make our Catholics more fervent.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Guide and inspire those who govern us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cure the sick who confide in thee.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Console the sorrowful who trust in thee.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Help those who invoke thine aid.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Deliver us from all dangers.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Help us to resist temptation.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Obtain for us all we lovingly ask of thee.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Make our family life holy.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Help those who are dear to us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bring back to the right road our erring brothers.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Give us back our ancient fervor.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Obtain for us pardon of our manifold sins and offenses.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bring all men to the feet of thy Divine Child.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Obtain peace for the world.

Let us pray

O God of infinite goodness and mercy, fill our hearts with a great confidence in Thy

most holy Mother, whom we invoke under the title of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and

grant us by her most powerful intercession all the graces, spiritual and temporal, which we

need. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

~~~~~~
HYMN to be sung: "Dear Lady of Fatima"
1. Dear Lady of Fatima,
We come on bended knee,
To beg your intercession
For peace and unity.
Dear Mary, won't you show us
The right and shining way?
We pledge our love and offer you
A Rosary each day.
2. You promised at Fatima
Each time that you appeared,
To help us if we pray to you
To banish war and fear.
Dear Lady, on First Saturdays
We ask your guiding hand,
For grace and guidance here on earth,
And protection for our land.
Promises of the Five First Saturdays
Then the most Holy Virgin said: Look, my daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with
which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist, at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who:
1. on the first Saturday of five consecutive months,
2. shall confess,
3. receive Holy Communion,
4. recite five decades of the Rosary,
5. keep me company for 15 minutes while meditating on the 15 mysteries of the Rosary,
and
6. with the intention of making reparation to Me.
Why Five First Saturdays:.
Our Lord Himself gave the answer to Sister Lucia:
My daughter, the reason is simple. There are five types of offenses and blasphemies committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
1. Blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception;
2. Blasphemies against Her Virginity;
3. Blasphemies against Her Divine Maternity, in refusing at the same time to recognize
Her as the Mother of men;
4. The blasphemies of those who publicly seek to sow in the hearts of children,
indifference or scorn, or even hatred of this Immaculate Mother;
5. The offenses of those who outrage Her directly in Her holy images.
Here, my daughter, is the reason why the Immaculate Heart of Mary inspired Me to ask for this little act of reparation. (May 29, 1930)!4
I have heard of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, but this is the first time I have heard of the concrete steps of the First Saturday devotion. I have heard plenty about the controversies surrounding the consecration of Russia. As far as I am concerned, First Saturdays are what I can do with my family. It isn't only the error of Russia destroying the world today. Plenty of "christians" disrespect Mama Mary. Plenty of Catholics foment division. So there's plenty of blame to throw around like what monkeys do. But thank you Edward Pentin for getting the word out about what we can do for reparation and peace.
See above for a compilation of the official prayers and First Saturday consecrations. There is so much to learn about the Fatima children and events. Here is one source.
Our Lady has never been called Mama Mary by Catholics until fairly recent times. It was always Mary my Mother. Tbh Mama Mary sounds rather disrespectful.
E.B.B. Frago's avatar
I think it shows what kind of relationship you have with Her.
Mar Mar's avatar
I don't understand what you mean - can you clarify?
E.B.B. Frago's avatar
Other people would not dare call God Abba except for Jesus and He taught us His prayer the Our Father. No one would dare call God with such a familiar and casual and intimate tone. I struggle with that. But Jesus gave us His Mother when He was on the cross. So I take Her as my Mother and so I call her Mama. I call my own mom mama. That's the kind of relationship I have with Mama Mary and God our Father and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I am deficient in my relationship to the Holy Spirit.
Mar Mar's avatar
Thank you for replying and telling me about your relationship with Our Lady. I mistakenly thought you were talking about my relationship with her.
I come from a cultural background where being unduly familiar with an important person is seen as a sign of disrespect. It seems to me that not hesitating to be familiar with an important person is an American thing, but I could be wrong.
And probably I'm just old-fashioned and like traditional terms of expressing love and affection towards Our Lady such as: dear/dearest Mother, sweet/sweetest Mother, most loving Virgin Mary and so on. I particularly like the short prayer "Monstra te essem matrem" which comes from the ancient Catholic hymn "Ave Maris Stella".
God bless.
Thank you Cdls Burke and Sarah for continuing to encourage the faithful. Very beautiful initiative.
I have a Devotion to Our Lady Of Guadalupe and pray the Rosary daily 🙏 I am glad to see lots of young people taking on Devotions to Mother Mary It's pure Grace when you look at the Lady of Guadalupe
It literally changed the Western Hemisphere in a matter of a decade Catholicism was spread across the America's
Mexico was converted in months then South and North
And this start with 1531 exactly when European countries were losing 8 million people to Protestantism the Americas' converted 10 million souls in just a few years
Jesus Christ left us the Holy Spirit to work through Society's and Guadalupe proves it
Very beautiful initiative by Cdls Burke and Sarah.
I have met Cardinal Burke. He is a holy man and dedicated to Our Lady. He has suffered much and has remained faithful. Visit the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Wisconsin.
Timber Wolf's avatar
About time. These Cardinal Birdbrains might also want to point out that the dire warnings that Our Lady of Fatima gave on July 13th, 1917 did not come with an expiration date, that the real third secret, which probably dealt with the Tower of Babble that was Vatican II, has yet to be published, and that God WISHES to establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart. Our Lady has been ignored. And concerning the Hot Steaming Mess that is the present "pontificate" it looks like the Holy Ghost is returning the Favor.
adrienneep's avatar
No, Our Lady has not been ignored. Why don't you try the devotion instead of politicizing it? A compilation of the prayers is posted above. This Saturday September 6 is the First Saturday for September, with so many other Marian feast days. See you there.
Timber Wolf's avatar
Just for the record I have been doing the First Saturdays continuously for ten years now, and on and off for 50 years.
I do plan to commemorate the Nativity of Our Lady September 8th, and especially Our Lady of Sorrows Sept 15th, and Michaelmas Sept 29th.
In the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
The only birdbrain I hear chittering here is yours.
I remember when the hidden “Third Secret” speculation was all about the Third World War and “fire from the heavens.” Now, in less than a generation, another invented speculation has taken the place of the old one.
Your mindset isn’t different from that of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and other raptured-crazed chiliasts rambling about today. And equally ignorable.
Timber Wolf's avatar
I am a chiliast. Guilty as charged. But what does that have to do with anything I said? Considering all the damage Vatican II and the Bogus ordo has done, WHY WOULDN'T they be in the real 3rd Secret?
Or maybe you believe that pile of nonsensical verbiage released in 2000 was the authentic 3rd Secret.
Regards in the Holy and Sorrowful Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Teófilo de Jesús's avatar
I believe Sr. Lucía, Pope St. John Paul II, and Pope Benedict XVI who all said the secret was now public.
You’re making an argument from silence with no supporting evidence. That’s a fallacy, IOW, faulty thinking from unproven premises into a false conclusion. St. Thomas Aquinas would be wagging his finger at you.
Finally, chiliasm is considered a disallowed and heterodox interpretation that the Church rejects. You’re borderline heretic.
All things considered, I don’t believe you, I don’t trust you, and I urge others to do the same until that time you think with the Church, and not against her.
The Real Third Secret began with the words "In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved.
With all due respect, Chiliasm is in the Apocalypse, Chapter 20, so take up the argument with the Angel of Patmos.
The "Sr Lucia" who claimed the secret was now public was an impostor introduced in 1967.
The church does not reject Chiliasm. Pius XII- a heterodox pope himself- said that the idea could not be "safely taught", whatever that exactly means.
Unlike Holy Mother Church, St Thomas did not have the infallible protection of the Holy Ghost, the proclamations of the Council of Trent notwithstanding.
You might want to read my last two Substack posts for the deep dive.
In the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Teófilo de Jesús's avatar
I don’t accept as facts any of your conspiracy theories regarding Fátima. And I quoted from normative Catholic teaching regarding chiliasm.
You’re enmeshed in heresies, fears, and morbidities. We’ll talk when you conform your mind to the Church’s.
Timber Wolf's avatar
Well, enjoy World War Three and the Annihilation of Nations. but when Rome is reduced to dust and the Conciliar Church vanishes before your eyes, just remember that it will never be too late to have recourse to the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
