While I'm quite grateful to these four men for their action, it speaks loudly that there is no Ordinary taking part, meaning a bishop (any bishop!) with local jurisdiction. There seems to be either a lack of motivation or reticence because of the perceived risks.
Pope Francis had a very different MO than Leo, though. Leo is a “by the books, follow the law” kind of governor. Strickland was actively saying the Pope was leading the Church into error. So the problem isn’t either bishops being cowed or that this would be beyond the pale (which is to say that nothing bad is going to happen to these four bishops, at least not from the Vatican).
I am going to guess that Ordinaries just have a lot more on their plates to deal with and don’t have time to go to Rome to respond to the blasphemy of an Italian group they have no connection to.
Does anyone know of an act of reparation prayer that you can pray when you see your lesbian cousin receiving the Eucharist when she should not? This has happened at three funerals. If they were TLM funeral, she definitely would not.
I see this all the time at NO funerals and weddings. As you say, it would not happen at the TLM because the priest is usually very explicit about having to be a practising Catholic in a state of grace.
I was actually thinking more along the line that you kneel for communion & you only receive on the tongue. I’ve never been to a TLM funeral, but I’m guessing the priest might make an announcement the end of his homily that only Catholics in the state of Grace may receive the Eucharist.
Oh yeah, no thank you. She thinks she’s married to another woman and my biggest fear of those poor children she “adopted “… I think their souls are even in more grave danger.
I have four other cousins that no longer practice the Catholic faith on my dad’s side of family, but even they did not dare to receive the Eucharist at a funeral that was earlier this year.
Please don’t forget the Chiesa del Gesù. That’s where the “pilgrimage” started to profane the Church with the Mass with the rainbow cross that was used explicitly as an act of protest DURING the liturgy. I pray the Chiesa del Gesù is re-consecrated.
Thank you so much, Mr. Pentin, for reporting on this! I'm guessing this event will be greatly downplayed by the mainstream Catholic media. And God bless these four courageous bishops for doing this! What a horribly sad time for our Church! We are seeing the tragic fulfillment of the Blessed Mother's prophecy at Akita, Japan in 1973 (or thereabouts) that eventually we would see bishops opposing bishops. Pray, fast, do penance, and offer sacrifices for the pope, our bishops, the clergy, and the entire Church! Ladies, please check out SevenSistersApostolate.org and consider joining a Seven Sisters team to pray for your pastor or any particular priest. Only prayer and reparation will save us from this scourge of corruption within the Church!
God bless them. Sad to see they are always the same bishops. Where are the rest? In particular Burk who will celebrate a solemn pontifical mass in the Basilica and yet seems not to think an act of reparation is necessary.

They all saw what happened to Bishop Strickland and several lower-profile but courageous bishops who were unceremoniously sacked by Pope Francis.

What of Burke? What's his excuse?

Oh I get you now thanks

Thanks be to God. There are still a few good men in the Holy Catholic Church.

And all approved by Father Bob

God bless those Bishops.
Thank you for passing this along. May God hear your voices and forgive us.
The blessing for these "irregular" relationships should go like, "Go to the foot of the cross to be Judged and may God have mercy on your soul!"
