Important note: St. Peter’s Basilica is a parish (parrocchia) of the Diocese of Rome. It’s not simply a shrine or chapel. That’s an important canonical distinction that bishops should consider when restricting the TLM in their dioceses: the mother diocese of the world has allowed the TLM in parishes throughout TC (Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini never stopped offering the TLM) and now the TLM is being welcomed into more parish churches, including the one physically connected to the papal residence: St. Peter’s. I attended this pilgrimage in 2014, 2015, and maybe 2017. It was beautiful back then, but I don’t think anyone back then thought the end was near. Thankfully we should hold onto the hope that the end is still not near. 🙏 🇻🇦🪑✝️ 🕊️🔥

I heard the opposite from Pillar, that St Peter's is NOT a parish church and is therefore allowed to offer extraordinary form...are you sure you got your facts straight?

I lived in Rome for three years & was a card-carrying pilgrim tour guide at St. Peter’s Basilica for three semesters. Plus, it’s on their website—easy to fact check. This won’t be the first time Pillar got something wrong. I hope they will correct their misinformation since this is super important for bishops around the world to know that under Pope Leo, parishes may host the TLM. Far too many Christians have been spiritually abused by the bishops by being pushed away from their pastors & parishes & it is time for healing and reconciliation.

Beautiful! Wish we could have been there.

I pray that TC will vanish into oblivion. Guitar Masses or Masses without any music, very arid, like in Spain, won't attract many to the Church. True beauty and reverence speak to the heart. As this incredibly beautiful Pontifical Mass celebrated by Cdl Burke.
